As a DMM Energy Fleet Coordinator, you will be responsible for the implementation of cost-effective fleet asset management and maintenance strategies that will maximize performance while maintaining a safe and reliable operation in all areas that DMM Energy serves.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

  • Collaborates directly with drivers and Regional Managers.

  • Coordinates day to day operational activities as required with Logistics Coordinators.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Track registration renewal dates and ensure vehicles are renewed on time.

  • Track entire fleet, identifying serial numbers, unit numbers, mileage etc.

  • Ensure and oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance is completed.

  • Contact suppliers for pricing parts, ensuring that DMM Energy is receiving the best pricing available.

  • Assist with planning for repairs, new vehicle purchases, including life cycle costing.

  • Prepare annual budget for vehicle expenditures.

  • Actively participate in the identification, procurement, and installation of new or additional equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, TSSA and other regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure company compliance to provincial regulations as it relates to fleet operations.

  • Liaise with employees regarding vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Post secondary education in business management or a level of knowledge normally acquired at the College or University level.

  • 3 years of experience within a transportation-based industry.

  • 3 years of experience in maintenance and asset management in a fleet environment

  • Mechanical experience and knowledge of truck vehicles is considered as asset.

  • Experience in gathering data and compiling necessary information.

  • Self-motivated and well organized.

  • Demonstrates good judgement; approachable and professional; solid problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.

  • High level of accuracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Proven skills to interact effectively with employees in order to direct work flow, assess performance and assign duties.
