The Human Resource Administrator will serve as a vital contributor to the DMM Energy team. This position will primarily focus on the operational and administrative aspects of HR, with a specific emphasis on overseeing accurate and compliant payroll processes. Additionally, this role will involve coordination of recruitment activities to support the company's talent acquisition efforts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will include, but not be limited to the following:

​

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:

  • Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, tax forms, and payroll details.

  • Process HR-related paperwork, including employment contracts, benefits enrollment forms, and payroll adjustments.

  • Assist in the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate payroll setup and adjustments for new hires and departing employees.

PAYROLL MANAGEMENT:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

  • Review and validate employee time and attendance records, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related data inputs.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate recording of payroll expenses and related financial transactions.

RECRUITMENT COORDINATION:

  • Assist in the coordination of recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.

  • Maintain applicant tracking records and ensure a seamless candidate experience.

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to facilitate the recruitment process and ensure timely communication with candidates.

COMPLIANCE AND REGULATION:

  • Stay current with Canadian payroll legislation, regulations, and tax requirements to ensure company-wide compliance.

  • Monitor changes in employment standards, tax codes, and other payroll-related laws, and implement necessary updates to company processes.

  • Assist in preparing and submitting payroll-related reports to government agencies.

EMPLOYEE SUPPORT:

  • Serve as a resource for employees with payroll-related inquiries and concerns.

  • Assist employees with understanding their pay statements, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.

  • Collaborate with the HR team to address routine HR inquiries and provide administrative support.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance payroll processes, aiming for increased efficiency and accuracy.

  • Participate in the selection and implementation of payroll software and tools to support automation and compliance.

  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR administration, with a focus on payroll oversight.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems; experience with Payworks is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to handle and analyze complex payroll data.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and tax laws is highly desirable.
